Koh Samui Night Life

Koh Samui Night Life

Every year visitors flock to Koh Samui to experience the luxury accommodations, the beautiful white sand beaches, and of course the vibrant, world-famous Koh Samui night life. Eden Rock Villa enjoys a prime location, midway between Chaweng and Lamai beaches, two of the islands hottest party destinations.

Chaweng Beach

Chaweng has become one of the top Koh Samui night life destinations in all of Thailand. Clubs, bars, and pubs of every variety are packed in along Chaweng Beach Road, the main road that runs parallel to the shore. If you don’t know the area well, the beach road is always a safe bet for finding a fun, enjoyable evening. If you venture just a few steps off the beach road, however, you’ll find some of the hottest clubs on the island on Soi Green Mango and Soi Reggae. (The word “soi” means “street”.) Some noteworthy spots on Soi Green Mango are Sweet Soul Café, Sound, Mint, and of course the Green Mango Club. Soi Green Mango is also home to several of Koh Samui’s most famous go-go bars. The offerings on Soi Reggae are, in general, a little smaller (and slightly seedier) than those on Soi Green Mango. Some of the highlights of Soi Reggae include the Reggae Pub and the Petcha Bucha Thai Boxing Stadium where you can watch Muay Thai fights from 9 p.m. until midnight Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday. Needless to say, the Koh Samui night life is full of things to do.

Lamai Beach

Much smaller and lower-key than Chaweng, Lamai still offers a great Koh Samui night life experience with plenty of bars, discos, and pubs. For a fun evening in Lamai, check out Fusion, Super Sub Club, Shamrock Pub, Chill In, Outback Bar, or the Red Fox Too. Just outside of Lamai is the Tawann Bar and Terrace, located in the Renaissance Koh Samui Resort and the bar at Beach Republic. Lamai boast two venues for Thai boxing: Lamai Stadium, which hosts traditional Muay Thai on Monday nights starting at 8:30 p.m., and a smaller ring across from Fusion nightclub that holds lady Thai boxing on Saturday nights.

Full Moon Party

The other must-see Koh Samui night life event is the Full Moon Party at Phangan, which attracts visitors from far and wide. The party is held every full moon at Hadd Rin Nok beach, which is generally thought to be one of the best spots in the world to view the full moon. As twilight falls on the evening of the party, people begin to congregate at the beach, and by nightfall there may be as many as 20,000 revelers packed on the beach to enjoy dancing, fireworks, and the musical offerings of DJs from around the world.
